We are excited to announce that Spice AI now supports Polygon! This much anticipated addition to our platform offers developers broadened access to multi-chain blockchain data, and brings Web3 development on Polygon a step closer to building intelligent apps with powerful AI/ML capabilities.

This is Spice AI’s third supported chain launched this year, following the successful rollouts of Ethereum and Bitcoin support to our community.

Polygon blocks, transactions, inputs and outputs can now be queried with SQL over high-performance Apache Arrow APIs. With Spice AI’s signature multi-chain architecture, queries can span cross-chain and cross-dataset for ecosystem-wide insights. This architecture also paves the way to adding more chains — we’re actively working on Solana as our next chain.

With this launch, Web3 builders can combine bulk, real-time, and historical blockchain, smart-contract and enriched Polygon NFT data with code for applications and machine learning.

We are especially excited for the roll out of our best-in-class automated token detection for Polygon.

By applying our same advanced ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token detection that has demonstrated strong performance for developers on Ethereum to Polygon, we are able to achieve the fastest way to access high-quality, complete blockchain data across both.

You can experience the query speed and quality directly on our home page. Go to the try spice.xyz section, select Transfers of ERC-1155 Tokens on Polygon and click run code to query results in seconds. Here it took 0.3 seconds to get results to minute-precision.

When you’re building with Spice, you can view the columns and their schema available for each table with the describe <table> command shown below:

Visualizing this data is intuitive using Python and the Spice Python SDK, and you can fetch results in JSON, Apache Arrow, and now also CSV for easy use with apps, ML, or libraries like NumPy and Pandas.

Polygon NFT specific tables are now supported.

Spice is designed for Applications and ML and we’re now bringing this developer-first data infrastructure to Polygon NFT creators and builders.

Sample Scenarios:

A) collectors and curators can access their Polygon and Ethereum NFTs from across different platforms as a single list of NFTs and validate across chains

B) because Polygon and Ethereum addresses are the same, NFT platform builders can also match addresses to the same person across the two chains

We can use the same explore queries tool on our homepage to test this out — this time selecting OpenSea NFT Sales Across Ethereum/Polygon and clicking run code to retrieve minute-precision results. In this run it took just 0.8 seconds.

With lightning fast query on Spice, you can now fetch millions of Polygon records in seconds over high-performance Apache Arrow APIs. No more paging through REST results.

About Polygon

Polygon is the leading blockchain development ecosystem, offering scalable, affordable, secure and sustainable blockchains for Web3. Its growing suite of products offers developers easy access to major scaling solutions including L2 (ZK Rollups and Optimistic Rollups), sidechains, hybrid, stand-alone and enterprise chains, and data availability. Polygon’s scaling solutions have seen widespread adoption with tens of thousands of decentralized apps, unique user addresses exceeding 174.9M and $5B+ in assets secured. The network is home for some of the biggest Web3 projects such as Aave, Uniswap, OpenSea and well-known enterprises including Robinhood, Stripe and Adobe. Polygon is carbon neutral with the goal of leading the Web3 ecosystem in becoming carbon negative.
